What to do if you’re stuck inside the house during the Covid-19 pandemia

Restrictions. Limits. Boundaries. Some people say they feel like in “jail”. Stuck inside. Daydreaming about their escape.

Have we really lost our freedom?

Only if you allow yourself to think this way.

Because…

Inside your home, there is an ocean of possibilities.

A whole world of opportunities.

Look.

You might be self-isolating. It might be tough…

But really, deep inside you nothing’s changed.

You are a free spirit. With divine spark within you. With unlimited potential. With boundless creativity and many yet untapped resources waiting to be brought to the surface.

You think your potential can be restrained within the 4 walls of your house?

You and I cannot be confined inside those 4 walls.

They might take away your freedom of movement, temporarily. Yes.

But they cannot take away the value you have and what you’re worth as a human being.

You might not be able to get out, to travel and to socialize. Yes, it’s true and can be frustrating at times.

But inside your home, you have ALL the freedom to do as you please!

There’s a world of opportunities laying at your feet.

Enjoy this extra time you have.

With less meetings, no social life and zero time spent in traffic – we added a few hours to our daily lives.

It feels to me like we bought SO much time.

It’s like the Universe is giving us a gift and saying to us:

“Hey – here’s a little break from your hectic, busy life. I’m giving you some time to be by yourself, reflect and meditate. Stop the autopilot and just be still. For a while”.

So…

Use this time wisely.

What are you choosing to experience?

How are you going to perceive yourself and all of this situation? Are you going to play the role of the victim and put your life on hold OR are you going to make the most out of this extra time you have?

In which ways are you going to grow and develop yourself?

I’m a social person that loves to party and go out and STILL, for me, there’s no such thing as being bored inside the house.

Here are a few things you can do, except watching Netflix and being freaked out by the news:

– Read those books that you always wanted to read…but you just didn’t have the time until now 😊

– De-clutter your wardrobe, get rid of all the junk, clean up your drawers. Out with the old, in with the new! Or if you’re feeling more ambitious, even get your house re-designed with the online help from the designers at StartCasa that are doing a great job at helping people rethink their space with very, very affordable rates! It’s time to make your place feel even cozier and more comfortable!

– Explore more of that potential of yours. Is there a new hobby you can take, while being inside? Let’s say you always wanted to learn flamenco one day. Olé! No problem. Simply start watching some video tutorials and get your body moving in front of the mirror…”con passion”! Being inside shouldn’t mean your life is on hold! Enjoy, celebrate and learn new things!

– ¿Hablas Español? Parlez-vous Francais? Is there a new language you want to learn? There are so many tools and resources available! Most language centres including Shakespeare School moved their courses online, on Zoom! So no excuses not to learn more about a whole new culture!

– Or perhaps there’s a new skill you might want to develop. Always had a fear of public speaking? Can’t find your words? Get better at giving a speech, by practicing in front of your mirror and imagining you’re the best public speaker ever! Practice makes perfect. No one knew how to do it at first. – Develop yourself personally. Watch motivational TED videos, get inspired by top speakers, look for interviews with successful entrepreneurs and sports champions. Learn from their mistakes, but also from their success. Model what works. Take notes.

– Learn new recipes. Cook something new. Invent a new dish. Explore and experiment in the kitchen. Design the perfect plate worthy of a luxury restaurant that would make even a master chef jealous! Get creative and enjoy the process. I personally love the Yummly app to give me inspiration with the ingredients I have in the fridge!

– Enjoy extreme self-care during these times. Pamper yourself with a warm cup of matcha latte or a nice body cream that makes your skin feel softer. Practice gratitude. – There is still SO much to be discovered about yourself. Ask yourself what do you really want to achieve and experience in life? Who do you want to become? What’s your ideal, grandest vision you have of yourself? Write it down. Visualise it vividly. Keep your mind focused on what you want to have happen.

These are just a few ideas, to get your creative juices flowing.

But really…

Inside your home, there is an ocean of possibilities.

So much to do. So much to learn. So many ways to grow.

Restrictions?

The only restrictions are in your own mind.

It is up to you to make the MOST out of this situation. You’ve GOT this!
