Why are goals important?
“Won’t goals stress me out and put unnecessary pressure on me? I just want to live a relaxed, happy, easy life.”
The little self tries to resist and distract you from your bigger dreams and visions with a pretty good excuse: the promise of a comfortable life.
If a comfortable life is what you’re aiming for, then go for it. Take each day as it comes and do NOT make the mistake to plan anything ahead. Live for today and see what the future holds.
There is no sense of urgency to do anything, no pressure and no commitment to achieve greatness.
But will it really be comfortable knowing that you have not even scratched the surface of your full potential here on Earth?
Will you really feel happy, when your life lacks meaning and purpose?
When you live this way, you have simply temporarily lost touch with your deepest purpose.
The truth is, without goals, you won’t be able to grow into a bigger person spiritually, mentally, emotionally.
Your goals put you in the process of becoming more, giving more, learning more – and that is the whole purpose.
It’s not the goal itself that is important, but WHO you become in the process of achieving that goal.
Reaching your goal is simply a milestone that shouts out:
“Congratulations for your effort and WHO you had to become in the process” that announces you that your hard work paid off and your inner transformation was successful.
When you commit to a certain goal, behaviour or feeling that you wish to experience, it will give you a guiding compass for your actions. A clear direction to take.
All successful people had goals and worked relentlessly to achieve them.
However…
Goals are useless without a commitment to achieve them against all odds.
So…
Commit to persevere no matter what, as if your life depended on them.
Stick to your goals and make them non-negotiable, as if failure is not even an option.
And ultimately, fall in love with the journey and the person you become in the process of achieving your goals.
